The B-Line bourbon tour announces the addition of Second Sight Spirits and Rich’s Proper Food & Drink to the collection of stops comprising Northern Kentucky’s bourbon experience and welcome to Bourbon Country.
First introduced in early 2018, The B-Line includes five Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour® distilleries, six bars, and five restaurants. Participants create their own experience by following a self-guided trail and complete the Line Guide by collecting at least two stamps from each category of distilleries, bars, and restaurants.
“All Kentucky Bourbon distilleries have a story,” said Julie Kirkpatrick, Vice President—Sales & Marketing at meetNKY | Northern Kentucky CVB. “Second Sight Spirits’ story is a tale of two best friends, growing up in Northern Kentucky, spending a good chunk of their lives in Las Vegas with Cirque de Soleil and finally returning to their roots in NKY to make some incredible spirits.”
Second Sight Spirits began operations in 2015, in historic Ludlow, Ky., and was officially named a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour® this fall. Best friends and business partners, Carus Waggoner and Rick Couch have overseen an expansion of their distillery as well an expansion of their brand from the first release of their rums and now their first bourbon release of Oak Eye Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey.
“It is so exciting to be part of The B-Line bourbon tour and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour®,” said co-owner Carus Waggoner. “We know our special moxie at Second Sight is to continue to do everything we do in a way that honors the spirit and our special place in Ludlow. We cannot wait to show more visitors another way to love ‘America’s Native Spirit.’”
Also newly added to The B-Line, Rich’s Proper Food & Drink opened in 2018 inside a retail storefront that until the 1950s was Rich’s Gruen Watches, a famous high-end watch company that thrived in Cincinnati from the late 1800s to mid-20th century. Rich’s owner, Bill Whitlow, and his wife carefully restored the space, including the iconic Rich’s sign, into a must-visit for an amazing proper Old Fashioned, award-winning Mint Julep or taste of more than 150 Bourbons include some very rare vintage varieties. Rich’s also serves a unique Creole-Kentucky Southern menu on a bustling corner in Covington’s central business district.
“Rich’s couldn’t be more excited to join The B-Line,” said Bill Whitlow. “We can’t wait to make our impression on the group. Not to mention, everyone knows our cocktails are on FIRE!”
Rich’s and Second Sight Spirits join a celebrated list of existing B-Line establishments including New Riff Distilling, Boone County Distilling Co., The Old Pogue Distillery, Neeley Family Distillery, Purple Poulet, Prohibition Bourbon Bar at Newberry Bros., Bouquet Restaurant & Wine Bar, Wiseguy Lounge, Bourbon Haus 1841, The Globe, Chandler’s on Market, Tousey House Tavern, Coppin’s at the Hotel Covington and Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar. “Doing” The B-Line still consists of visiting two distilleries, two restaurants and two bars to get your Line Guide stamped for some unique bourbon swag.

Recent state mandates have closed restaurant and bar in-person service, but we're happy to report that many of our B-Line stops have patio dining (and carryout!) still available.
